Over 400 varieties - 2,000 plants in all - bloom from spring through early fall.

 

Welcome to Hamilton Gardens, a truly enchanted spot, boasting the largest collection of rhododendrons in the state of Georgia. Stroll tranquil pine bark trails as they wind through lush foliage. The legacy of Fred and Hazel Hamilton, the Gardens were graciously donated to the Georgia Mountain Fair in 1982, and more than 1,000 plants were eventually relocated to their present site. In 1990, the first Rhododendron Festival was held in Hiawassee, and two years later, the Festival earned the distinction of being one of the Top 20 Events of the Southeast Tourism Society.
