Strategy: I created a theme to run through this whole piece: "Delivering Certainty." The whole idea that by choosing Vanderlande, you'd get a "certain" and assured positive outcome for your project in all areas - a KEY hot button for this audience - and one we drove home throughout the piece.  So the section headings became: Delivery Certainty, Delivering Project Management certainty, Delivering Security Certainty, Delivering Controls Certainty, Delivering Equipment Certainty, Delivering Service & Maintenance Certainty, and finally, Delivering Total Project Certainty.

With UPS, Vanderlande Industries saw their chance to break into the North American market. In the face of stiff competition, the global package delivery giant awarded Vanderlande the world’s largest materials handling contract ever – more than $350 million. Using baggage handling system components, Vanderlande crafted a unique solution for expediting the handling of packages from arriving flights at the UPS WorldPort in Louisville, Kentucky.

 

At nearly 4 million square feet, the operation included 355 VERTISORTERSâ, 160 miles of baggage handling belt conveyor and 612 outbound chutes. Vanderlande quickly parlayed this foothold into a string of successes – delivering baggage handling systems to airports in Tampa, Boston, Dallas, Chicago, Detroit, Vancouver and others.
