The SilvaGas process is a sustainable biomass gasification
system for creating lower cost fuels and chemicals from biomass, agricultural,
forest residue and energy crops. It’s been proven to be cost-effective,
flexible and has a minimal environmental footprint.
Flexible Feedstocks
With most biomass gasification designs, higher-moisture feedstocks
will produce a gas with lower heating value. With the SilvaGas process,
feedstock moisture content can range from near 0% to 50%, while still yielding
a gas with uniformly high heating value.
No Fossil Fuel Required
Unlike some other technologies, the SilvaGas process needs only biomass,
and doesn’t require additional fuels to sustain the combustion process.
No Combustion
As the gasification process entails no combustion (it takes place in the absence of oxygen), no harmful combustion by-products are created.
True Gasification
The SilvaGas process is not a combustion process, but a true
biomass gasification process, which operates at near atmospheric pressure –
without the need for pure oxygen.
Recycled Heat
Flue gas can be reused for direct heating, biomass drying
