SAMPLE EXCERPT FROM: INFOGRAPHIX COLORTRANS "HOW-TO" VIDEO PRESENTATION Welcome
to Infographix, From
the same people who brought you Rasterserve, the first truly affordable digital
poster production printing system, now comes COLORTRANS, a revolutionary
industry first - a full-color direct digital process for vinyl. With
COLORTRANS, vinyl banners and signage are a breeze,
while conventional screen processes, both expensive and time-consuming, have
gone the way of the dinosaur. As
a promotional medium today, vinyl is HOT! Through the COLORTRANS Vinyl
production Process, you can ride the "Vinyl Wave" and produce
brilliant results - instantly! Whether
it's posters, murals, banners or trade show signage,
COLORTRANS delivers in vinyl. And the best part? You'll be using virtually the same technology,
equipment and processes you now use for your top-quality poster production: A
RasterServe digital printing system, with a Xerox or Calcomp electrostatic
printer, and a laminating machine. Welcome
to the COLORTRANS Vinyl Production System! Through
the power of video, we'll take you step-by-step through this amazingly simple
process. With COLORTRANS, you quickly be on your way to creating top quality vinyl
signage and banners - using a system and processes you've already come to
trust. Let's create a banner! The
story begins in the same place where all your large-format poster production
starts: at your graphic designer's PC or Mac. The image is manipulated in the
same manner After
the image is enhanced through the dynamic Error Diffusion Software, it is then
processed through Infographix RasterServe, the state-of-the-art digital imaging
software. Once through these steps, the image moves on to your Xerox Versatec
or Calcomp electrostatic printer. Up
to this point, every step in the vinyl production process is identical to
normal large-format poster production. It is at the printing stage, that the
vinyl production process takes some new directions. The first is the use of new and different paper, specially designed for the vinyl process. The second is that your image is printed in reverse. A good analogy is a T-shirt transfer. It appears reversed on special paper. Once applied, the paper is peeled off cleanly, leaving a correctly oriented image. This is the essence of the COLORTRANS vinyl process as well. END
